PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keeping box excellent in operating convenience and anticrime efficiency without complicating the structure of the keeping box for keeping a key for a door of a doorway such as tenant building or the like. SOLUTION: The keeping box 1 for keeping an individual discrimination device such as hollow access key, magnetic card, IC card or the like includes a keeping section 12 for keeping the individual discrimination device, a lock section for locking so that the individual discrimination device can not be pulled out when the individual discrimination device is kept in the keeping box, an indicating section 13 corresponding to each of keeping sections, an door opening mechanism 17 for opening the door 11 of the keeping box, a verification section 16 for verifying the individual discrimination device or a controlling discrimination device different from the individual discrimination device and an input section 15 for designating the keeping section 12. The controlling discrimination device is verified by the verification section 16, and when it is verified as a regular one, the door 11 is opened by the door opening mechanism 17, the individual discrimination device corresponding to the controlling discrimination device is indicated by the indicating section, and a control section 10 for unlocking a lock of the keeping section applicable to the individual discrimination device designated by the input section is included.
