PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for producing esters of 3,3-dimethyl-2- formylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid represented by general formula (2) [wherein, R is an aralkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a (substituted) aralkyl group]. SOLUTION: This method for producing the esters of the 3,3-dimethyl-2- formylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid represented by general formula (2) is characterized in that esters of 3,3-dimethyl-2-(2-methyl-1-propenyl)- cyclopropanecarboxylic acid represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R indicates the same meaning as the above) are reacted with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of tungsten oxide, rhenium oxide, molybdenum oxide, heteropolytungstic acid and heteropolymolybdic acid. |
