PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an endoscopic instrument which facilitate program rewriting of a circuit unit at a low cost. SOLUTION: A scope connector section 10 side part disposed at the universal cable end of an endoscope is provided with an electric contact connector section 11 which is freely attachably and detachably connectable to an external apparatus. The scope connector section 10 is internally provided with an information memory section unit 24 (circuit unit). The information memory section unit 24 has a program writing connector 37 to which a personal computer 131 and a program writing device 132 (operation program rewriting means) are connected. The information memory section unit 24 is taken out of the scope connector section 10 and is connected to the personal computer 131 and the program writing device 132. The personal computer 31 is then operated, by which the operation program of a CPU 33 disposed at the information memory section unit 24 is rewritten.
