PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high speed of printing and the stability of the quality of printing and to obtain printed matter of high quality. SOLUTION: A set of a plate cylinder 1 and an impression cylinder 2 constituting a single or a plurality of printing units of a printing part C in printing a master roll J are driven integrally by a set of gears M1 and M2 fitted to the respective shafts of the cylinders. Printing is made on the lower surface side of the master roll J, and the roll J dried forcibly by a drying device D is carried to a reversing device L. The roll J is reversed thereby so that the printing surface is turned to the upper side, and the roll is made to run horizontally in one direction along the course of carriage from a paper feeding part A to a delivery part I.
