PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood for an endoscope by which the passing through the esophageal pharyngeal section is easy when an endoscopic mucosal excision is performed, and also, more mucosal excisions can be performed. SOLUTION: This hood 1 for an endoscope is equipped with a cap section 2 and an endoscope-fitting section 3. In this case, the cap section 2 has an approximately cylindrical shape formed of a flexible and transparent resin, at the tip end of which, a claw section 4 protruding inside is provided. The endoscope-fitting section 3 fixes the cap section 2 to the tip end of the endoscope. Then, the outer diameter of the cap section 2 is 16 mm or larger.
