PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patchwork guide device presenting the optimum turning direction of a sewing margin formed between pieces to a worker when forming a patchwork and to provide a recording medium recording a program for presenting the optimum turning direction to the worker. SOLUTION: This patchwork guide device makes a judging process of the turning direction of the sewing margin according to the predetermined judgment conditions. The optimum turning direction of the sewing margin formed between the pieces forming the patchwork can be instantaneously judged even if the pattern of the patchwork is formed by the original design of the worker. When the judged result is presented to the worker by an indicating means, the worker can easily turn the sewing margin to the optimum direction by referring to it in the sewing stage of adjacent pieces, thus continuing sewing.
