PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for an endoscope with excellent antimicrobial properties. SOLUTION: The flexible tube 1 for an insertion portion is constituted of a structural body 2 and an outer skin 3 covering the outer periphery. The outer skin 3 is constituted of a material comprising a flexible resin and a plant extract with antimicrobial properties. The resin preferably comprises at least one kind of polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane elastomer, polyester elastomer, polyolefin elastomer, polyamide elastomer, polystyrene elastomer, fluoroelastomer and fluororubber. In addition, as the plant extract, one extracted from plants belonging to the seed plant division, the angiosperm subdivision, the dicots, the choripetarae subassociations and the buttercup order is preferable.
