PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mowing machine capable of releasing mowed grass from an outlet opening set other than an inlet opening and having higher releasing position and capable of releasing mowed grass far away from the machine body. SOLUTION: This mowing machine has a supporting mechanism 20 for a grass collector mounted on the rear portion of a travel machine body to support a collected grass container 10, capable of switching its posture between a mowed grass-collecting posture where an inlet opening 12 of the container 10 faces on the front of the machine body and a lifting and releasing posture where an outlet opening 13 faces downward, and the posture-switching operation is performed by parallel displacement in which the container 10 moves aslant upwardly backward with keeping its posture almost parallel to the grass collecting posture and turning motion in which the container 10 turns around the center near the opening 13.
