PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high accuracy sorting operation even if the amount of foreign matters having low specific gravity is larger than that of particles to be sorted. SOLUTION: Multi-stage sorting plates are provided below a raw material flow-down port 24 of a raw material feed part 12 so as to be vertically spaced apart from one another, and the sorting plates are disposed on the upstream side of air in succession so that the central portion of each lower stage sorting plate is located below the upstream edge of an upper stage sorting plate. A first sorting part, which is opened on the upstream side of air above a first sorting plate is provided in the port 24, and a second sorting part, in which an air passage forming plate, air direction adjusting plate, air speed adjusting member, and splitting member are provided, is disposed below the sorting plates.
