PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sulky root vegetable harvester which can grade with a grading conveyer the root vegetables whose leaf portions are removed in a harvest portion and can recover the root vegetables carried on the grading conveyer in a recovery portion, in a state that the total length of the harvester can be shortened and in a state that the work can be carried out, while stacking many empty or root vegetable-recovered containers or using the recovery portion in a narrow workshop. SOLUTION: A grading conveyer 48 is disposed in a state capable of carrying harvested root vegetables in the lateral direction of the machine frame from the side of a harvesting portion 10 to the opposite side. A recovery portion 50 is disposed behind a driver seat 2. A carrier 52 is disposed on the lateral outer side of the machine frame. The carrier 52 can be switched into a using posture projecting on the lateral outer side or into a storage posture that the carrying surface 52c of the carrier 52 is stored on the outside of the recovery portion 50 in the vertical direction of the machine frame.
