PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce breads having good appearances and a high commercial value, while preventing the deformations of trays used for baking bread in a bread production line containing an oven. SOLUTION: The line 10 for producing bread includes an oven 14, and trays are carried on plural conveyers C on the line. Each tray 24 has a rectangular dent-like or dish-like shape whose edge portions 26 are swollen, and is made from a metal. The method for producing the tray, comprising a process for cutting or punching a steel plate base material in a prescribed rectangular outline, a process for pressing the processed metal plate in a dent-like shape, and a process for heating the press-processed metal plate at a higher temperature than the baking temperature of the oven, maintaining the temperature for a prescribed time, and then gradually cooling the press-processed metal plate to the baking temperature of the oven. Due to the final annealing process, the tray is scarcely deformed, even when repeatedly charged into the oven.
