DIESEL TYPE IN-LINE ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-line engine, capable of generating a very large output in a highly reliable running state. SOLUTION: This diesel type in-line engine 1 is provided with a cam shaft system divided into at least two sections 4a and 4b and a crankshaft 4. The sections are fixed to each other with their respective ends, mated to each other via a flange coupling 5. The engine 1 is provided with at least two cam shafts 9 and 10 which are arranged in a longitudinal direction in the order and related with different cylinders. Each of the cam shafts is provided with cam shaft driving device 12 driven by the crankshaft 4.
