PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC power supply device which make the life of a secondary battery long. SOLUTION: A commercial power source S is connected with a first input terminal 11 of the AC power supply device 10. A secondary battery B is connected with a second terminal 12 stretching from an inverter 15 (inverting means). A load L is connected with an output terminal 13. A change-over device 14 (switching means) which switches over exclusively the first input terminal 11 and the inverter 15 and connects the terminal 11 or the inverter 15 with the output terminal 13 is installed between the terminals 11, 13 and the inverter 15. A controller 18 (controlling means) for controlling the change-over device 14 is installed. On the basis of consumption power is the load L, which is obtained by a detector 16 (detecting means), the controller 17 determines the power load rate between the commercial power source S and the secondary battery B in such a manner that a discharging rate of the battery B is limited at most a specified value, and operates the change-over device 14 with a time rate corresponding to the power load rate.
