摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new double resonance absorption microscope, capable of suppressing deterioration in S/N caused by the contamination of fluorescence signals with exciting light, and has superior three-dimensional spatial resolution. SOLUTION: This double resonance absorption microscope is provided with a light source for a pumping beam which excites sample molecules from its ground state to a first electron excitated state, and a light source for erasing light exciting the sample molecule in the first electron excitated state to a second electron excitated state or to a higher excitated state, and detects the emission of light generated, when the sample molecule in each excitated state is made to be de-excited to the ground state. The pumping beam has a photon energy which is 1/2 or less that of the excitation energy for exciting the sample molecules from the ground state to first electronic excitation state. |
