HIGH SPEED MOTOR DRIVEN COMPRESSOR AND ITS COOLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed motor driven compressor and its cooling method capable of effectively cooling a rotor and a stator even when an impeller is directly driven with a high speed motor, and minimizing the generation of imbalance of the rotor to rotate the rotor at high speed. SOLUTION: This high speed motor driven compressor has a compressor 21 directly connected to a rotor shaft 5 of a motor 1; a cooler 12 for cooling gas compressed with the compressor; and a cooling line 14 for introducing part of the compressed gas cooled with the cooler into a casing of the motor. The stator 6 of the motor has a gas passage 24 communicating the inside and the outside of the stator in the central part in the axial direction of the stator 6. The casing 8 has a gas inlet 8a communicating the inside and the outside of the gas passage and plural gas outlets 8b installed at both ends in the axial direction. The gas compressed with the compressor 21 directly connected to the motor 1 is cooled with the cooler 12, part of the cooled compressed gas is passed through the gas passage 24 communicating the inside and the outside of the stator installed in the central part in the axial direction of the stator 6 or in its vicinity, let to flow in the both ends direction along the rotor through a gap between the rotor 4 and the stator 6, and discharged to the outside from the both ends of the casing.
