PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the facility cost and the communication cost of a communication system. SOLUTION: An LPG dealer 3, a city gas dealer 5 and a soft drink dealer 7 are connected to the center 21 of a data communication agent 19 through an Internet 15. The center 21 is connected to terminal equipment 27-1 to 27-9 connected to the gas meters 29-1 to 29-6 of various types of businesses or automatic vending machines 31-1 to 31-3 trough a public line 23. The LPG dealer 3, the city gas dealer 5 and the soft drink dealer 7 remotely control and monitor the gas meters 29 through the common center 21. Thus, facility cost is reduced.
