At a temperature for releasing HC adsorbed in an HC adsorption catalyst 22b, an air-fuel ratio of the first cylinder group is set to be rich. The air-fuel ratio of the second cylinder group is set so as to be leaner then in the vicinities of air-fuel ratio A/F 16 to 17 discharging the maximum NOx exhaust. |
