SOLUTION: In the nickel/hydrogen secondary battery wherein an electrode group 5 at which a separator 3 is installed between a positive electrode 2 in which the active material that has nickel hydroxide particle whose surface is coated with Na containing Co compound or the active material that has as the main component a mixture between nickel hydroxide particles whose surface is coated with Na containing Co compound and in which a metallic Co or divalent Co compound is carried on the current collector, and the negative electrode which carries a negative electrode mixture that has a hydrogen storage alloy as the main component and active material is encapsuled in the battery can together with an alkaline electrolytic solution, lithium hydroxide of amount of 0.3 to 1.2 M is contained in the alkaline electrolytic solution. |
