The insulation system consists of semi-rigid glass wool panels (7) with vapour-proof barrier layers of Kraft paper and aluminium (8), fastened against the underside of the steel roofing sheets (4) between joists (6) by metal brackets (1, 2), supporting hooks (9) and self-tapping screws (11). The troughs in the underside of the corrugated steel sheeting have foam blocks (3) at their lower ends or adjacent to apertures used for roof lights or fume outlets, or longer trapezoid-section blocks running their whole length. The upper surfaces of the joists are insulated by foam joints (5) to avoid creating thermal bridges.
