TDM OPTICAL MUTTIPLEXER, TDM OPTICAL DEMULTIPLEXER, WDM/ TDM CONVERTER AND TDM/WDM CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply time division multiplex to a plurality of 10Gb/s signals. SOLUTION: Optical signal sources 10-1 to 10-4 generate RZ signal lights of 10Gb/s with different wavelengths λ1-λ4 in accordance with 10Gb/s data signals 12-1 to 12-4 respectively. Optical delay devices 14-1 to 14-4 delay output lights of the optical signal sources 10-1 to 10-4 so that the output lights are set to prescribed different time slots of 40Gb/s. An optical multiplexer 16 applies wavelength multiplex to the output lights from the optical delay devices 14-1 to 14-4. An optical amplifier 18 amplifies the output light of the optical multiplexer 16 and gives the amplified light to a wavelength converter 20. The wavelength converter 20 converts the wavelength of the output light of the optical amplifier 18 into a wavelength of a CW light source 26 and gives the converted light to an optical band pass filter 30. The optical band pass filter 30 makes only the component of the wavelength λ5 to pass through.
