PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can be set in accordance with the size of a wide paper which is larger than a standard sized paper and whose size is optional, and capable of attaining high quality and high productivity, based on the setting. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an inputting means for setting information on setting consisting of the standard size, vertical length and horizontal length of the wide paper stored in each paper feeding cassette for every paper feeding cassette. A control condition for the apparatus, especially, a carrying control condition for deciding the carrying situation of the wide paper fed from the paper feeding cassette in the apparatus is decided by a control means, based on the setting information, especially, the vertically length and the horizontal length, and also, the apparatus is driven, based on the condition, and then, the image is formed on the wide paper. Besides, it is allowed to decide the carrying control condition, based on a carrying control condition for an approximate standard size whose vertical length and horizontal length do not exceed the aforesaid vertical length and the aforesaid horizontal length and approximate to them. |
