PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive assembly of a structure suitable for the reduction of a size, weight and thickness. SOLUTION: The disk device has guide members 10 and 11 which form guide passages of the disks by operating to open and close according to widths of the disks and grasp the disks by the guide passages or open the guide passages, a disk clamper 69 which freely graspably and openably sandwiches the front and rear surfaces of the disks, a screw shaft 58 which transfers the disks to a prescribed position and a mounting mechanism 51 which freely engageably and openably mounts the disks. The device is constituted to transfer the disks in and out and to mount and release the disks.
