PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connector that attains automatic control so as not to reduce a network processing capability, in the case of diagnosing a fault of an Ethernet(R) card. SOLUTION: An IP card and an Ethernet address of a card of a fault diagnostic object are copied to an IP address register, and an Ethernet address register 501 corresponding to a card operated on behalf of the fault diagnosis object card on the occurrence of an interrupt. Then a slot control firmware 140 disconnects the card of the fault diagnosis object and connects with the substituted card. When the fault diagnosis is finished, the slot control firmware 140 connects with the fault diagnosis object card and disconnects the substituted card. The slot control firmware 140 applies these operations for to all cards. |
