PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aluminum planographic printing plate which has high ink receptability and is free of the contamination of non-image parts in a plate making method for an aluminum silver salt printing plate. SOLUTION: The plate making method of exposing the planographic printing material having physical development nuclei between an am base and a silver halide emulsion layer, then subjecting the material to development processing to remove at least the silver halide emulsion layer and depositing ink receptive silver images on the aluminum base consists in applying a processing liquid containing at least gum arabic on the plate surface by a stage for applying a lipophilicity impartation agent-containing liquid not containing the gum arabic to the plate surface including the silver images and a stage for drying the plate surface of the planographic printing material.
