摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the driving method of a plasma display panel capable of avoiding the flicker of a video display by enhancing the stability of write discharge. SOLUTION: This driving method of a plasma display panel is provided with a reset period (period 1) when barrier charge is erased and display data are reset, a primary scanning period (period 2) when either odd-numbered row display data or even-numbered row display data are written in odd-numbered row cells and even-numbered row cells, a scanning erase period (period 3) when the odd-numbered row display data or even-numbered row display data are erased from either the odd-numbered row cells or the even-numbered row cells, a secondary scanning period (period 4) when even-numbered row display data are written in the even-numbered row cells from which the odd-numbered row display data are erased and odd-numbered row display data are written in the odd-numbered row cells from which the even-numbered row display data are erased and a sustaining period (period 5) when sustaining pulses are impressed on the odd-numbered row cells and the even-numbered row cells.
