Solid polymeric organic semi-conductors comprise a polymeric donor species containing multiple p electron systems and an electron acceptor species. Specified polymers are polystyrene, isotactic or atactic polyvinyl naphthalene, polyacenaphthylene, or polyvinyl mesitylene. As acceptors are specified silver perchlorate, hexafluorobenzene, trinitrobenzene, quinone, naphthoquinone, anthraquinone, quinones substituted with halogen groups and cyano groups, tetracyanoquinodimethane, tetrafluoroethylene, tetracyanoethylene, pyromellitic anhydride and maleic anhydride. The compositions are made by mixing the ingredients in solution and flashing off the solvent. |
