The present invention further discloses a method treating various disorders, e.g., sensorineural hearing loss, gastric ulcer, developmental disorder, various neoplasm, inflammation, immunological disease, hematopathy, HIV infection etc. The present invention also discloses an antagonist of the polypeptide and its therapeutic action. The present invention further discloses the use of the polynucleotide encoding the new human proton translocation ATP enzyme 24.</p>
