Crosslinkable polymer composition in the form of an aqueous dipersion or powder comprises a carboxy-functional copolymer (I) and a copolymer (II) having functional groups capable of forming a covalent bond with the carboxy groups of (I). Crosslinkable polymer composition in the form of an aqueous dipersion or powder comprises: (a) a copolymer (I) that has a glass transition temperature (Tg) or melting point of at least 30[deg]C and is prepared from monomers selected from vinyl esters of 1-18C alkanoic acids, (meth)acrylate esters of 1-15C alcohols, dienes, olefins, vinylaromatics and vinyl halides, including 0.1-50 wt.% of one or more carboxy-functional monomers; and (b) a copolymer (II) prepared from monomers selected from vinyl esters of 1-18C alkanoic acids, (meth)acrylate esters of 1-15C alcohols, dienes, olefins, vinylaromatics and vinyl halides, including 0.1-50 wt.% of one or more monomers having functional groups capable of forming a covalent bond with the carboxy groups of (I). An independent claim is also includes for a process for producing the composition, comprising preparing (I) and (II) by solution or emulsion polymerization.
