PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod improved in antislip effects and easiness of gripping in the fishing rod having a gripping part formed by braiding a fiber yarn into a waywinding state and covering the gripping part. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is obtained by crossing the fiber yarn 3, braiding the fiber yarn 3 in a waywinding state, forming braided parts 10 overlapping at a prescribed length in the longitudinal direction and bulging in the radial direction in the braided parts 10 and composing the gripping part 2 in the fishing rod having the gripping part 2 on the outside of the butt rod 1.
