PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulator having reality and an amusement wherein when a thrown ball is hit back, the approximate state of the ball can be known. SOLUTION: This simulator is equipped with a throwing in-detecting sensor 16, a coordinate- detecting device 18, a hitting back-detecting means 20, a passing time-detecting section, and an operation means. In this case, the throwing in-detecting sensor 16 detects the throwing in timing of a ball 24 at a throwing in point P1. The coordinate-detecting device 18 detects the passing locations at the times of a throwing in and the hitting back. The hitting back- detecting means 20 detects the hitting back timing of the ball 24. The passing time-detecting section detects the passing period of time from the throwing in timing to the passing of the coordinate-detecting device 18, and the passing period of time from the hitting back timing to the passing of the coordinate-detecting device 18. The operation means calculates the speed of the ball by the passing time of the thrown in ball 24, and calculates a hitting back point P3 by the throwing in point P1, the passing location P2 of the thrown in ball, and the hitting back timing of the ball. At the same time, the operation means calculates the speed of the hit back ball 24 by the passing time of the hit back ball, and calculates the flying direction and the carry of the hit back ball by the speed of the hit back ball 24, the hitting back pint P3, and a passing location P4 of the hit back ball.
