PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine for preventing washing from being dried insufficiently. SOLUTION: The drum type washing machine is provided with a closed-end cylindrical drum 5 that has a hole part 5a on a wall surface and can be supported rotatably, a closed-end cylindrical water tank 4 for covering the drum 5, a passage 27 for drying that is arranged around the water tank 4 while being flexed and feeding air flowing out of an exhaust vent 4c that is formed at the water tank 4 for circulating, a drying means 24 for drying air that passes through the passage 27 for drying, and a sensor 31 for detecting the temperature or humidity of circulated air. Also, the sensor 31 is mounted to a part where air is circulated nearly in a straight line from the exhaust vent 4c at the passage 27 for drying.
