PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject machine equipped with a nipping conveyor having solved such problems that, a conventional stems/leaves treatment machine for rhizomic crop is so designed as to be equipped with a front wheel roller and slantly mounted with a nipping conveyor whose drive input part is provided on the terminal end thereof, therefore a transmission gear is necessitated to arrange along the upper surface of the nipping conveyor, furthermore since a tension roller absorbing the elongation of a conveyor belt is furnished on the terminal end, the nipping conveyor structure is disadvantageous both in cleanability and maintenance capability. SOLUTION: This stems/leaves treatment machine for rhizomic crop has such a scheme that, a transmission case housed with transmission members is arranged along the lower surface of a nipping belt construct, doubling as the frame for the nipping belt construct, along with making the upper surface cover of the nipping belt construct easily detachable, resulting in improvement in both cleanability and maintenance capability, furthermore a tension roller absorbing the elongation of a conveyor belt is set up on the initial end side of conveyance to avoid the interference with stems/leaves in conveyance.
