PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color printer in which the occupancy of bus consumed for reading out video data is reduced by shortening the time required for reading out bit map data from a recording medium on the second and subsequent pages at the time of printing a plurality of copies. SOLUTION: The color printer comprises a recording medium 4 storing video data, and a tandem video data control circuit 5 for reading out a line of video data 4 corresponding to an inputted horizontal sync signal from the recording medium 4 when the video data of the first copy is outputted, storing it at an address proximate to an address where video data from a recording medium 6 corresponding to previous horizontal sync signal is stored, and reading out a line of corresponding video data from the recording medium 6 when the video data of second and subsequent copies is outputted.
