摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PVA-based filament nonwoven fabric having the characteristics of a PVA-based polymer, such as good hydrophilicity, good water absorbency and high toughness, by a melt-spinning method. SOLUTION: This polyvinyl alcohol-based spun-bonded nonwoven fabric characterized by comprising filaments consisting mainly of (D) a thermoplastic polyvinyl alcohol which comprises (A) polyvinyl alcohol having a viscosity- average degree of polymerization of 200 to 700 and a melting point of 160 to 230 deg.C, contains (B) an alkali metal ion in an amount of 0.00001 to 0.05 pt.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component (A) and further contains (C) an acid having a pKa of <=5.0 at 25 deg.C in such an amount thatαrepresented by the following expression:α=[the content (wt.%) of the acid (C) in the polyvinyl alcohol]/[the content (wt.%) of the alkali metal ion (B) in the polyvinyl alcohol] satisfies 0.1 to 1, and holding a prescribed shape by a partial thermal compression fusion method.
