PURPOSE: A device for equalizing tension of elevator rope is provided to get rid of an unbalance of tension inter rope by forming a cylinder space on opposite side to an oil pressure unit of a suction unit and punching a penetration hole inter cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A tension adjusting room block(10) includes a suction room(11) in which a suction pressure operates, a reverse pressure room(14) in which a reverse pressure of oil operates, and a through hole(12,15) for a spacial sector inter suction room(11) and reverse pressure room(14) respectively being equal. A piston(30) slides in a straight line in airtight state in the tension adjusting room. A piston rod(31) carries a load between the piston(30) and a rope. A cover plate(20) seals an aperture into which the piston(30) is inserted, and has a guide hole(21) which guides the piston rod(31). An air exhaust valve(13) exhausts air from the suction room(11). An oil injection valve(16) injects oil into the reverse pressure room(14). A packing(22) and an O-ring(36,37,38) prevent an inflow of dust.
