PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lead acid battery from reaching the end of life by corrosion at the joining portion in the connection of cells. SOLUTION: This is a connection structure of the cells of a lead acid storage battery in which the intermediate pole columns 5, 5' of opposing polarity standing up from a group of pole plates housed in the adjoining cell room 3, 3' of a battery jar are connected through the connecting portion 6 which is formed in the through-hole 4 of the barrier 2. The above intermediate pole columns 5, 5' surround the connecting portion 6 on the side faces of the barrier and are equipped with a groove 7 opened to the top side and the groove 7 is filled with resin of oxidization resistance.
