PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, with which the operability of a wireless portable terminal can be enhanced by entering information retrieval words and data in voice and a user can confirm a retrieval result by means of an image or characters. SOLUTION: An information retrieval word, entered in voice by the wireless portable terminal 10, is transmitted to an information retrieval section 17 via a voice control section 15 and a voice recognition section 16 via voice communication, which acquires information related to the information retrieval word from an article information file 21 over the Internet. The information retrieval section 17 transmits information, related to the information retrieval word and provided to a user in voice, to the wireless portable terminal 10 via a voice conversion section 18, the voice control section 15 and voice communication and also transmits an image and character information or the like related to the information retrieval word and displayed onto a screen of the wireless portable terminal 10 to the wireless portable terminal 10, via a packet control section 19 and packet communication.
