PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze and evaluate a gap between a performance data in which there may be mis-touching and an offset of timing and a musical score data and to accurately make them correspond to each other tone by tone. SOLUTION: In the processing system in accordance with this invention, an event map IM and a template TP are created (MM, TM), respectively, which are sound information developed in a two-dimensional space consisting of a time base and a pitch base, concerning the performance data PD and the score data MD, and matching operation is performed(MP) at plural positions offset in the time-base direction between the both, and a best matching position Xme is obtained between the both based on the operation result MR. Based on the position Xme, the offset OS between the performance data and the score data is outputted (OD), and also the performance data and the score data are made to correspond to each other (linking) (LD). At least either of the event map IM and the template TP is processed by 'gradation', to facilitate the processing of matching operation.
