PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of magnetic recording and reproducing performance by controlling the contact state to a magnetic disk medium of the free end of the free part of a liner at the inner and outer peripheries when contacting the free end of the free part of the liner to the magnetic disk medium to perform cleaning and then by stabilizing a surface height at the inside and outside peripheries. SOLUTION: A discoid magnetic disk medium 4 for high recording density is rotatably housed in a case C by joining an upper and lower shells 1, 2, and the liner 5 is fixed on the inside surface of the shell opposed to the magnetic disk medium 4. A part of liner 5 is provided at the free part 5a separated from the inside surface of the shell the part which can contact the surface of the magnetic disk medium 4. The inner side length H2 is enlarged with respect to the outer peripheral side length H1 of the free part 5a in the media rotating direction D, thus a uniform contact state corresponding to the linear velocity difference of the inner and outer peripheries is acquired.
