PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate exposure process, when forming a fluorescent surface of each color to reduce cost of an apparatus used for it, improve adhesion of the fluorescent surface to the inner face of the panel, and provide an image display device having satisfactory color reproducibility. SOLUTION: Thermosetting resin is contained in the inside of a fluorescent surface 2, formed into stripes or dots onto the inner face 3a of a glass panel 3. Also at a position facing the fluorescent surface 2 between the inner face 3a of the glass panel and the fluorescent surface 2, an electrode 11 substantially having the same shape as that of the fluorescent surface 2 is provided.
