The invented antiseismic cage is an armoured space remaining, in the event of earthquake, as unalterable as possible, even after the building is collapsed. It is a centrally-formed space constructed with unbreakable materials (e.g. hollow beams) and adapted to give direct access to the surrounding spaces. Its armouring is protected, when possible, by other constructions (attachements) made of the same or similar materials answering the relevant requirements; said attachements are meant to protect the access to said antiseimic cage (a), absorb a part of the seismic activity (b), and protect passing people from injuries caused by inert materials (bricks, plaster etc). The invented antiseismic cage is composed of a rigid roof seated on columns with retaining elements, which columns are seated on a equally rigid floor so that a rigid cube is formed with repect to the architectural requirements (see attached figures). In case that the reinforced concrete columns of the building are collapsed, the invented antiseismic cage acts as a safety space formed between the roof and the floor of the building. |
