PURPOSE: A komungo is provided to play Korean traditional music and new modern creative music by expanding the range of sound, varying the tone color, generating new playing techniques, and various change of major and minor, thereby providing mellow sound. CONSTITUTION: A komungo having first to sixth strings further includes a new second string(52) disposed between the first string(30) and the second string(32) for generating a tone higher than the second string by about 5 degree, a new first string(50) disposed in front of the first string for the starting function like the first string, a new fifth string(54) disposed behind the sixth string(40) for the finishing function like the fifth string, and a new sixth string(56) disposed behind the new fifth string for the finishing function like the sixth string.
