PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having very high photosensitivity and low residual potential, nearly free of the accumulation of residual potential even after repeated use, having such very good stability as to suppress the variation of its electrification ability and sensitivity and excellent in durability. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor with at least a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate, a polyester resin having a biphenyl structure and a bisphenol structure of formula (1) (where each of A and B is a benzene ring having at least two substituents and X is a divalent organic residue) as repeating units is contained in the photosensitive layer.
