The antenna is used in the radio- and the communication engineering. It is compact and has the facility of operation in two frequency ranges. The antenna comprises a low frequency aerial unit (20) and high frequency aerial unit (30), fitted one above the other and separated by a separation dielectric plate (4). Each unit (20, 30) contains a respective basic dielectric plate (24, 34), the respective antenna array of multiple antenna microelements (21, 31) connected by respective unit supply lines (22) 32) with appurtenant supply points (23, 33) and the respective metal screening surface (25, 35). The low frequency antenna microelements (21) are resonant for the frequencies of the low frequency and transparent for the frequencies of the high frequency band. The high frequency antenna microelements (31) are resonant for the frequencies of the high frequency band. The screening surface (25) of the low frequency unit (20) is frequency selective and is reflecting for the frequencies of the low frequency and transparent for the frequencies of the high frequency band. 37 claims, 25 figures |
