A peptide comprising a T-cell epitope specific to collagen II. The peptide comprises at least nine amino acids having the same sequences as and selected consecutively from 110-239, 338-379 and 587-895 portions of the sequence of collagen II. The peptide is useful for the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and relapsing polychondritis.
