Luminescent plants are produced by a symbiotic relationship between plants and selected bioluminescent lucipherase genes containing bacteria, such that bacteria are propagated and/or treated with agents inducing and ensuring a close relationship, between a plant and bacteria and/or promote enhanced contact and/or induce stronger bio-luminescence. Plants and/or their cells, tissues and organs are inoculated by direct or indirect means with the bacterial preparations. An unstable, loose, and transient connection between plant surface structures and bacterial preparations is indicated by space and/or time limited luminescence. When the relationship between plants and bacteria is pronounced a self stabilizing trend may be established, and a phenotype appearance (luminescence) is optionally induced by external factors. When a light-emitting plant is produced the emitted light's parameters (as wavelength etc.) are those of the bioluminescent bacteria. These bacteria do not cause fundamental plant characteristics, but may modify some (eg. the color of a certain plant sections). |
