PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of detecting relative tilting of a disk and an optical head in a wide band precisely and capable of detecting tilting in radial and tangential directions simultaneously. SOLUTION: The device has equalizing means 14, 15 and 16 for correcting the frequency characteristic of the signals of three tracks reproduced by using three beams and a control means 17 for controlling the characteristics of the equalizing means. The device optimizes the tap coefficients of the equalization means from a signal system reproduced in a learning data area where previously fixed data is recorded on an optical disk and an ideal value system corresponding to this learning data reproducing signal by batch processing so as to remove crosstalk components by using a method of least squares and calculates the tap coefficient values of these to detect relative tilting of the disk and the optical head.
