PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device and processing method which rapidly and uniformly develop a heat developable sensitive material, substantially prevent the staining and flawing of the heat developable sensitive material during processing and do not give rise to curling of the heat developable sensitive material during processing. SOLUTION: The processing method for the heat developable sensitive material having a photosensitive layer containing photosensitive silver halide particles, organic silver salt and reducing agent on at least one surface of a base and a layer for protecting the photosensitive layer is characterized in that the heat developable sensitive material transported in the processing device is developed while its one surface is brought into pressurized contact with a hot drum by hot wind of 80 to 200 deg.C.
