PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket examination machine having a slit that excels in guiding performance. SOLUTION: A lighting display part is disposed at a position near the slit of the main body of an automatic ticket examination machine which performs the entering/leaving processing according to the data recorded on a passenger ticket that is put into the slit. Furthermore, a display control means is installed to control the lighting display part to perform display to prompt a ticket holder to insert the ticket when the slit can accept the ticket and also to perform display to prevent the holder from inserting the ticket when the slit rejects acceptance of the ticket.
