PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor capable of increasing a mounting density on a printed board and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The multilayer capacitor comprises a square type chip-like laminate obtained by laminating plates for forming internal electrodes. In this case, fetching parts of the electrodes are laminated on one surface of the laminate so as to be alternately exposed at both right and left sides of its long side. External electrodes connected to the exposed fetching parts are disposed at both right and left sides of the long side of the one surface of the laminate.
